Care & Cleaning

You can find the binding care instructions on the sewn-in care label of the respective EULIN® product.

It is stated there:
• whether the product or individual components are washable
• what washing temperature is permissible
• whether a gentle cycle is required
• whether the product can be dried in the dryer
• whether ironing or dry cleaning is permitted
• Which other care instructions must be observed

Since covers, foam cores and filling materials are cared for differently, you should check the care label for the component in question before each cleaning.

During the night, a pillow absorbs moisture, skin flakes, sweat, dust and residue from skin and hair care products.

Regular and material-appropriate care can:
• support hygienic use
• Reduce odor formation
• maintain the freshness of the covers
• extend the life of the cover, filling and core
• Maintain the function and dimensional stability of the cushion

With a memory foam pillow, it is particularly important to differentiate between the washable textile components and the non-washable foam core.

How often a pillowcase should be washed depends on usage, personal sweating, room temperature, skin care products and individual hygiene needs.
A pillowcase that lies directly on the skin should be changed regularly and washed according to the care label. If you sweat heavily, have allergies, have oily skin or are ill, more frequent cleaning may make sense.
Make sure not to put the cover back on until it is completely dry.

No. A memory foam core should not be machine washed, completely soaked, or tumble dried.

The fine-pored foam can absorb water and only release it very slowly. Remaining moisture can:
• affect the material structure
• change the dimensional stability
• significantly delay drying
• Promote odor formation
• cause hygiene problems
Therefore, keep the memory foam dry. If necessary, you can air out the foam core in a dry and well-ventilated area.

The mechanical stress, water and spinning motion of a washing machine can damage the cellular structure of the memory foam.
The foam can deform, tear or lose some of its original resilience. There is also the risk that moisture remains deep in the foam and does not dry completely.
A gentle cycle is also not suitable for a memory foam core unless the care label specifically states otherwise.

No. Memory foam cores should not be put in the dryer.
The heat and mechanical movement can damage the foam, deform it or change its material properties. Direct heat from radiators, fan heaters, hair dryers or other heat sources should also be avoided.
Only air out memory foam at room temperature in a dry, well-ventilated area.

First remove the outer cover and – if available – any removable inner covers.
Wash the textile components according to the instructions on the respective care label. The foam core itself must not be washed.

Proceed as follows:
1. Carefully remove any washable covers.
2. Check the care labels of the individual textiles.
3. Wash the covers at the permitted temperature and the recommended program.
4. Air the foam core in a dry, well-ventilated area.
5. Avoid direct moisture, strong heat and intense sunlight.
6. Allow all washed textiles to dry completely.
7. Only cover and reassemble the cushion when all components are dry.

If possible, memory foam should not be cleaned wet. Small surface dirt should not simply be washed out with a lot of water, as moisture can penetrate deep into the foam.
First check whether only the removable inner or outer cover is affected. In many cases, the cover adequately protects the foam core and can be washed separately.
If the foam itself is very dirty or saturated with liquid, contact EULIN® customer service. Depending on the type and extent of the contamination, replacing it may make more hygienic sense than independent wet cleaning.

Remove the outer pillowcase and place the foam core in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated room.
Make sure that the air can reach the foam from as many sides as possible. Do not place the pillow directly on a radiator or use a hairdryer or fan heater.

Also avoid:
• strong direct sunlight
• damp basement rooms
• Bathrooms with high humidity
• closed transport bags
• Covering with damp textiles

Only put the pillow back on when the foam and all textiles are completely dry and well ventilated.

A short indirect ventilation in a bright environment is usually not a problem. However, memory foam should not be exposed to intense direct sunlight or high heat for long periods of time.
UV radiation and high temperatures can cause the material to age prematurely, promote discoloration and affect the foam structure.
Therefore, it is best to air the pillow in a shady, dry and well-ventilated place.

Many memory foam pillows have a thin textile protective cover permanently sewn around the foam core. This cover cannot be removed and washed separately.
Depending on the model, EULIN® uses completely removable interior covers. This allows the textile protective layers to be cleaned separately while the foam elements remain protected.

The EULIN® CLOUD FLOWER MF1 has:
• the main body with a round inner core
• the mounting plate
each has its own removable inner cover.
This system makes care easier and allows for more hygienic cleaning of the textile components without soaking the memory foam.

Removable inner covers create an additional layer of protection between the foam core and the outer pillowcase.

They offer several advantages:
• additional protection of the memory foam
• Separate washability of the textile protective layer
• Easier to change the outer cover
• less direct contact of the foam with sweat and skin flakes
• Better control over hygienic care
• easier access to height-adjustable foam components
The care instructions for the respective inner cover must always be followed.

Sleep products are often used daily and for many years. At the same time, they are in close contact with the skin and respiratory tract for long periods of time.

EULIN® therefore takes hygienic use into account in the design and material selection. Depending on the product, these include:
• removable and washable covers
• separately protected foam components
• Interchangeable replacement covers
• washable filling systems
• adjustable or supplementable fillings
• clear care labels
• Models suitable for tumble drying

However, a hygienic design does not replace regular care by the user.

The term “mite-free” would be too absolute and should not be used for a memory foam pillow.
Memory foam is a compact solid foam and offers fewer loose cavities inside than many voluminous filling materials. However, house dust mites and their allergens are mainly found in dust, dander, textiles, mattresses, duvets and the entire sleeping environment.
Even with a memory foam pillow, allergens can accumulate on the covers or in the surrounding area. Regular cleaning and a hygienic bedroom therefore remain important.

Whether a pillow is suitable for a person with allergies depends on the type and severity of the allergy and the materials used.
The following points are particularly relevant for people with a house dust mite allergy:
• regularly washable covers
• Complete drying after washing
• Regular cleaning of the bedroom
• Washing bedding at appropriate temperature
• As little dust pollution as possible
• Medically recommended encasings if necessary
The core material alone does not determine whether a pillow is suitable for allergy sufferers. If you have severe allergies or sensitive skin, you should check the material information and seek medical advice if necessary.
What are encasings?

With the EULIN® CLOUD FLOWER MF1, the outer cover and the three separate inner covers are removable.

Wash:
• the external reference
• the inner cover of the main body
• the inner cover of the mounting plate
each according to the sewn-in care instructions.
We generally recommend that you wash the pillowcases at a maximum of 40 °C. However, if necessary, you can also wash them at up to 60 °C.
For routine cleaning, we recommend a washing temperature of 40 °C. This protects the fabric and helps it retain its shape and be comfortable for a long time. If they are more dirty or about every six months, you can also wash the pillowcases at 60 °C. The inner covers can be washed if necessary.

The following are not washable:
• the memory foam main body
• the round memory foam inner core
• the memory foam base plate

If necessary, air out the foam parts in a dry and well-ventilated place. Do not fully reassemble the pillow until all covers are dry.

First, carefully open the zipper on the outer cover and pull it off the pillow without pulling too hard.
If you also want to clean the interior covers, remove the individual foam components according to the intended construction. Remove the inner covers slowly and evenly so that the memory foam is not stretched or torn unnecessarily.
When assembling later, make sure that:
• Each inner cover is assigned to the correct foam part
• the components are correctly aligned
• No covers are twisted or used when wet
• The zippers must be closed carefully

Remove the washable cover of the EULIN® WOLKENFELD AIR and follow the information on the sewn-in care label.

The following are not washable:
• the memory foam main core
• the removable memory foam center panel

Both foam parts must neither be cleaned in the washing machine nor put in the dryer.
If necessary, ventilate the foam components dry and protect them from:
• direct moisture
• high heat
• intense sunlight
• damp documents
• closed containers without air circulation

Do not reinstall the center panel and cover until all components are completely dry.

The EULIN® EDELFELD SWISS ZIP is particularly easy to care for. According to the product information, the complete cushion is washable at 60 °C and can be tumble dried.
However, always pay attention to the sewn-in care label. Use a washing and drying machine with a sufficiently large drum so that the pillow is not compressed too much.
After cleaning, make sure it is completely dry. Moisture can remain inside a filled pillow for longer, even if the surface already feels dry.
You can use the zipper to check the filling quantity before or after care. If necessary, the filling can be removed, redistributed or supplemented with the refill material provided.

The EULIN® EDELFELD SWISS ZIP is designed as a fully washable pillow. Before washing, close the zipper completely and make sure that no filling components can escape.

The EULIN® EDELFELD SWISS ZIP can be tumble dried according to the product instructions. Note the permitted dryer setting on the care label.
A sufficiently large dryer supports even drying. If necessary, interrupt the drying process, carefully fluff the pillow and check whether there is still any moisture inside. For optimal results, we recommend adding 2-3 tennis balls to the dryer when drying. These loosen up the filling and help it become nice and fluffy again.
Do not use the pillow again until it is completely dry. Residual moisture can cause odors, lump formation and hygiene problems.

Only if this is expressly permitted on the sewn-in care label.
The EULIN® EDELFELD SWISS ZIP is suitable for tumble drying. The permissible temperature and the appropriate program can be found on the care label.
Memory foam cores should generally not be put in the dryer. This applies in particular to:
• the main body of the EULIN® WOLKENBLUME MF1
• the round inner core of the EULIN® CLOUD FLOWER MF1
• the mounting plate of the EULIN® WOLKENBLUME MF1
• the main core of the EULIN® WOLKENFELD AIR
• the middle plate of the EULIN® WOLKENFELD AIR

Textile covers may only be tumble dried if the respective care label allows this.

Whether fabric softener can be used depends on the material and the care instructions for the respective cover or product.
Fabric softener can change the properties of certain textiles, leave residues or impair moisture absorption. Therefore, only use it if the care instructions allow it.
If in doubt, a mild detergent without aggressive bleaching agents or strongly perfumed additives is the more cautious choice.

Do not use bleach, disinfectants, solvents, or harsh stain removers unless specifically permitted on the care label.

Such funds can:
• Damage textile fibers
• Change colors
• Affect coatings
• Promote skin irritation
• Leave material residue behind

For regular care, a suitable, mild detergent in the recommended dosage is usually sufficient.

Only iron a cover if the care label specifically allows it.
High temperatures can damage synthetic fibers, elastic materials, zippers or functional fabric structures. Ironing is often not necessary for pillowcases if they are hung up flat after washing or left to dry flat.
Memory foam should never be ironed or steamed. Ironing is neither necessary nor recommended for the currently available replacement pillowcases for the WOLKENBLUM MF1. The material is wrinkle-resistant and usually dries virtually wrinkle-free after washing.

Depending on its design, a product may be compressed for short-term packaging or transportation. However, for long-term storage, you should not permanently vacuum or strongly compress a memory foam pillow.
Long-term compression can affect material structure and recovery. Therefore, keep the pillow as loose, dry and in its natural shape as possible.
With the EULIN® EDELFELD SWISS ZIP, strong compression can also change the distribution of the filling. After compressed storage, the pillow should be carefully fluffed and fully unfolded.

Use a clean and dry bag for transport.

Make sure the pillow:
• is not packaged wet
• is not transported together with wet textiles
• not exposed to strong heat for long periods of time
• does not lie permanently under heavy luggage
• is adequately ventilated after the trip
After transport, a memory foam pillow should be allowed to fully return to its original shape before being used.

Remove any removable covers immediately and wash or dry according to the care label.
If a memory foam core has only become slightly moist on the surface, place it in a dry and well-ventilated place. Make sure that air reaches the foam from multiple sides.
If the foam has been completely soaked, complete and hygienically safe drying may be difficult. Only use the core again when there is no doubt that there is no residual moisture.
If there is persistent moisture, odor or visible material changes, you should replace the EULIN® pillow.

First wash the removable covers according to the care label and let them dry completely. Then air out the foam core or cushion in a dry and well-ventilated place.
Do not use heavily scented sprays, essential oils, or harsh odor removers directly on the foam. Such products may leave residue or degrade the material.

You can support the lifespan of your EULIN® pillow by caring for the material appropriately.
Pay particular attention to the following points:
• Wash all covers according to the care label.
• Allow all components to dry completely.
• Keep memory foam dry.
• Do not wash memory foam cores.
• Never put memory foam in the dryer.
• Air the pillow regularly.
• Avoid intense heat and intense direct sunlight.
• Do not store the pillow permanently compressed.
• Readjust height and filling quantity if necessary.
• Only use appropriate covers.
• Check seams, zippers and material regularly.
• Replace the pillow if the shape, support or hygiene deteriorate significantly.

Replacing it can make sense if the pillow no longer fulfills its original function or hygienic quality.
Possible signs are:
• permanent deformations
• decreasing restoring force
• Cracks or brittle areas in the memory foam
• Heavily clumped or uneven filling
• damaged seams or zippers
• persistent odors
• Contamination that can no longer be removed
• Visible traces of moisture or mold
• Significantly reduced support effect
• Permanently unpleasant feeling when lying down
